The Swedish Arthroplasty Register is a merger of two national arthroplasty registers, the Swedish Knee Arthroplasty Register and the Swedish Hip Arthroplasty Register. The register includes data about knee replacements since 1975, hip replacements since 1979, hemiarthroplasties since 2005 and knee osteotomies since 2013. There is data about patient reported outcome, demography, prophylaxis, surgical technique, type of implant, reoperations and revisions .
The aim of the register is to maintain a continuous follow-up of the health care quality, contribute to improvement work and research to gain knowledge and give the patients the best possible care.
